Prosperity Candle is a social enterprise founded in 2009 by like-minded people seeking positive change in the world. We operate at the intersection of business and philanthropy, prioritizing purpose over profit to create sustainable impact.
Each of us comes from a different walk of life, yet we share a common dream: a world where women have equal opportunity to thrive. We believe investing in women and girls creates a brighter future for all.
Prosperity Candle started by supporting women’s entrepreneurship in Iraq to help foster economic independence, particularly for widows. Since then we’ve expanded to working with women’s programs in Haiti and creating living wage jobs for refugees here in the U.S.
Every candle your purchase creates a world of good. Plus we are members of the World Fair Trade Organization and GreenAmerica, and are B-Corp certified for social and environmental sustainability.
Each candle is handcrafted with the highest quality ingredients, one at a time.
We hope you will join us in combining light, beauty and purpose to inspire a brighter future for all.
Who you help with your purchase:
In the US: You are helping refugee women who have been through unthinkable situations. Each candle is printed with the name of the woman who made your particular candle, and a way to reach out to her.
Also, our shipping department is staffed entirely by women who are in need in the US, women who have had to escape violent situations in their homes. These women have children who are also benefitting from their mothers being able to care for them while working.
