“Food for Thought” contains recipes from 15 countries around the world, in addition to the experiences of many refugees, as well as those who work with them here in the United States. 44,000 people flee their homes every single day due to persecution or conflict. That’s one person, every two seconds. Less than 1% of worldwide displaced peoples are ever actually resettled. What can we possibly do against such odds? How can our minds even take it all in? It’s almost impossible…millions turn to statistics in our minds. But ONE, one is a life. One is a story. One is a tragedy. One is a new start. One is renewed hope, and one is where we begin again to put our world back together.

“Food for Thought” is a small offering, but it’s a place to start.

No participant of this book, including the author, will receive any compensation of any kind from the proceeds of this project and book.  All proceeds will be donated to refugee organizations for both immediate and long-term needs of refugees, including, but not limited to, the CSI Refugee Program in Twin Falls, Idaho, and the IRC.

For Refugees world-wide and in Idaho: Profits from this book will be donated to the CSI Refugee Program in Twin Falls, ID, as well as to international organizations, such as the IRC, for both immediate and long-term needs of refugees.

In the US:  In Idaho, proceeds from this book will enable refugees to enter programs to learn English while maintaining jobs, as well as facilitate field trips that will expand their language-learning opportunities. Also, our shipping department is staffed entirely by women who are in need in the US, women who have had to escape violent situations in their homes.  These women have children who are also benefitting from their mothers being able to care for them while working.
